True Blues
Missing my family during the holidays is so tuff. I've began to throw myself into work so that time passes, but at the end of the day, true blues come to haunt me. But i have to remember this is what I signed up for, to let things change at a moments notice. But then again, whats a man without a great woman standing behind him. So as this fourth begins to start, I just remember this is what life is all about.Thank you baby, for defending this country one day at a time. You make me PROUD to have the same name as you.
I watched the flag pass by one day
It fluttered in the breeze
A young soldier saluted it, and then
He stood at ease
I looked at him in uniform
So young, so tall, so proud
With hair cut square and eyes alert
He'd stand out in any crowd
I thought how many men like him
Had fallen through the years
How many died on foreign soil?
How many mothers' tears?
I thought of all the children,
Of the mothers and the wives,
Of fathers, sons and husbands
With interrupted lives
No FREEDOM isn't free
